Arrival at Colombo Airport. Meet, assist and leave for Negombo, In the afternoon leave on a city tour of Colombo visiting Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple at Kalubowila, Kalaniya Buddhist Temple, Chinmaya Mission. Excursion to Chilaw, visit the Manavari Lingam Temple and Koneswaran Temple. Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana’s vimana’s. He felt he was being followed by bramhaasthi dosham as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stops the vimana at this juncture because he felt at this place the “Brahmaasthi Dosham” was not following him. He ascends from the vimana and asks God Shiva for a remedy. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised installing and praying four lingams at Manavari. Thiru Koneshwaram, Thiru Ketheshwaram and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the dosham. After breakfast drive to Nuwara-eliya, en-route visit the Sri Baktha Hanuman temple at Ramboda and Gayathri peedam Temple. After breakfast leave for Kataragama en-route visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. Also visit the Seetha Amman Kovil and the Divurumpola Temple. The stream that runs from the hill, catered to the needs of Sitadevi during her stay at Ashoka Vatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. Now there is #Temple-for-Lord-Rama, Sitadevi, Luxshmana and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hanuman’s are found by this river and some are of small and some are of large size, which tells us of the immense powers of Hanuman transforming himself into any size. Divurumpola means a place of oath. Sitadevi, after her liberation from King Ravana underwent a test to prove her chastity by offering herself to fire. However, she came unscathed and proved her holiness. Today the Temple is revered for the oath taken by Sitadevi and even the legal system permits and accepts the swearing done at this Temple while setting disputes between parties.
